Jodhaa Akbar - Preview

Ashutosh Gowarikers Jodhaa Akbar is the untold love story of the greatest Mughal emperor who ruled Hindustan (now India), Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar, and a fiery young Rajput princess, Jodhaa.

Set in the sixteenth century, this epic romance begins as a marriage of alliance between two cultures and religions, for political gain, with the Hindu King Bharmal of Amer giving his daughters hand to a Muslim Emperor, Akbar. When Akbar accepts the marriage proposal, little does he know that in his efforts to strengthen his relations with the Rajput, he would in turn be embarking on a new journey the journey of true love?

From the battlefield where the young Jalaluddin was crowned, through the conquests that won him the title of Akbar the Great (Akbar in Arabic means great), to winning the love of the beautiful Jodhaa, Jodhaa Akbar traces the impressive graph of the emperor and his romance with a defiant princess.

With Hrithik Roshan as Akbar and Aishwarya Rai as Jodhaa, this grand spectacle is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Ashutosh Gowariker.

Ranbir is the storm, Sonam`s the breeze: Big B

A hand-written letter and a beautiful bunch of flowers from Amitabh Bachchan will remain the highest compliment received by “Saawariya” stars Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor.

The Big B gets distinctly poetic while describing Ranbir and Sonam.

“Have you heard Beethoven`s symphony? There`s a loud orchestra followed by a thin flute sound…This was the genius composer`s interpretation of desire and destiny…The destiny loud and ominous, the desire soft and gentle. It`s like the two protagonists in `Saawariya`,” says Amitabh.

“Ranbir is the storm. Sonam is the soft breeze. Ranbir`s presence is a storm, and Sonam is the graceful, calm, gentle breeze that flowed around him. The narrative is almost like a Beethoven symphony, where the thunderous sound of the orchestra is always followed by the soft thin flute - a symbolic interpretation of gentle desire and overpowering destiny.”

Himesh creates history at Amsterdam concert

Himesh Reshammiya may have made his inclination towards his acting career loud and clear but that hasn’t stopped him from interacting with his fans via his concerts. On Saturday, December 1 2007, Himesh performed LIVE in front of a packed audience at Amsterdam’s Heineken music hall.

Informs our source, “The show was a massive success with a super packed audience. What enthralled Himesh and his troupe further was that there were audiences present in the show who not just belonged to India and other parts of Asia but also from the rest of the world.”
Himesh is the first ever Indian to perform at Heineken music hall, Amsterdam. Till date, only international rock stars like Beyonce, 50 Cents, Nelly Furtado, Pink Flyod, Akon etc. have performed at this prestigious venue.

As the source sums up, “Himesh is truly excited about the state of affairs since his films as an actor have also been launched just recently. To add to it, he now considers his Heineken experience as his best show ever. He has truly created history!”

Hrithik wants to play villain in ‘Krrish 3′

Rakesh Roshan has not announced a sequel of “Krrish”, but son Hrithik has let the cat out of the bag by saying that he would love to play villain in the next superhero film of the series.

“All I can say at this point is I wish I could play the villain in ‘Krrish 3′. I’m really excited about the villain’s role. So much so that I feel like giving up the superhero’s mantle to play villain. His role is too exciting,” Hrithik told IANS.

If he’s so excited about it he could play both the superhero and the villain in “Krrish 3″?

“No, no,” shrugged the actor. “That would be a triple role because then I’ll be playing the father, son and the villain.”

As for the clamour to have him back in the third part of the “Dhoom” series, Hrithik is all for it.

“Well, I think ‘Dhoom’ is a fabulous franchise. It has to move on. Whether my character Aryan will be back or not remains to be seen. Anything is possible in the movies.

“The challenge for every ‘Dhoom’ or ‘Krrish’ film is to be bigger and brighter than before. I think we’re climbing the ladder very fast. Soon we needn’t fear comparisons with our Hollywood counterparts.”

Hrithik is in a daring mood.

“The point is to find new challenges, I only want to do make-or-break films. And ‘Krrish 3′ will fall into that category,” said Hrithik whose next big release is the Ashutosh Gowariker-directed “Jodhaa-Akbar”.

He is paired with Aishwarya Rai in the period love story. They were seen together in “Dhoom 2″.
